How important is the staff to the practice's success?

A knowledgeable and courteous staff is key to a good practice. Most of the time, the staff is the first contact a patient will have. First impressions of an office set the patient's expectations for their care.

What made you decide to become an optometrist?

When I was a child I would go with my mom for her annual eye exams. I was always fascinated with the instruments and vision and thought it would be an interesting profession.

What is your specialty?

I have a special interest in pediatric optometry. I enjoy seeing patients of all ages, but I feel it is important to see children at an early age to detect any defects they may have in their vision systems. We are fortunate to have a vision therapy practice that can assist in providing children the best care for vision problems.

What do you enjoy the most about your career as an optometrist?

Working with patients to improve their vision. Whether it is with new glasses, contacts, information on LASIK, Vision Therapy or Surgery Referrals helping patients makes my job enjoyable.
