Dr. Roser
has practiced as a behavioral optometrist within the specialty of vision
therapy since her graduation from optometry school. She graduated with
highest academic achievement from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry
in 1987. Her first five years out of school she worked in a private
practice in Reading, Pennsylvania, which offered vision therapy as an
option of treatment for visual dysfunctions. Her interests gravitated to
this area of the practice and she was delighted to join Dr. Scott Weaver
in his practice where she could devote her time exclusively to using
vision therapy to treat individuals with visual difficulties which could
not be addressed with glasses. Her role in the practice is diagnosing
and directing treatment (vision therapy) for strabismus (a turned eye),
amblyopia (lazy eye), visual skill difficulties, and vision-related
learning difficulties.
In 1992, Dr. Roser completed the requirements necessary to become a
Fellow in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, the
equivalence of being Board Certified in Vision Therapy. Since then, she
has also been on staff at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital as a
consultant for their patients who have visual disturbances secondary to
brain injury. She is also a member of the American Optometric
Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the Chairman
for the Reading Seminar for Advanced Behavioral Vision. Dr. Roser has
lectured to many groups in Pennsylvania including seminars for
occupational therapist, educators, and parent groups.
Being a native to York, Dr. Roser is happy to provide this unique
service of vision therapy to her home town.

most experienced staff possible?
Dr. Weaver
wants to be the best for his patients, and has beautiful state-of-the-art
facilities.
What
specific activity or program do you participate in that benefits your
profession or your community?
We have one of
the few practices dedicated solely to vision therapy, providing all
aspects of development, and rehabilitation of an individual's vision.
What is
your specialty?
Behavioral
Optometry: the art and science of addressing individual's visual needs
where glasses/contacts are not enough to support or develop visual skills
used in every day life.
What do
you enjoy the most about your career at Weaver Eye Associates?
I sincerely
and whole heartedly enjoy providing a unique service to a community in
which individuals can more fully reach their potential by having the best
visual skills possible. There can be no greater pleasure than having
people tell me that they enjoy reading, they can read again, they do not
fall down the steps anymore, they no longer have headaches, or that they
can play ball better.
