Why
did you choose to create Weaver Eye Associates?
I
created Weaver Eye Associates in July of 1978. I started
the practice because I wanted my own practice. I wanted a
practice dedicated to patient care.
Why
is Weaver Eye Associates such a leader in the eye care
industry?
Weaver
Eye Associates is a leader in the eye care industry
because we are constantly striving for better ways to
serve our patients. This includes investments in our
facilities, our equipment, our doctors, our staff and our
education.
How
does Weaver Eye Associates demonstrate exceptional patient
care?
Weaver
Eye Associates demonstrates exceptional patient care every
day with every patient. We strive to treat each and every
patient as if they were our only patient, as if they were
our own family. I believe this is the only way to treat
patients.
What
made you decide to become an optometrist?
When
I graduated from college, I began my career teaching in
Arlington, Virginia. After one year as a high school
teacher, I knew that teaching was not my long-term career.
I then spent a year working for an employment agency in
Chicago, Illinois. After spending a year in the business
world, I knew that I wanted a profession where I could
work with the public and help the public in some way. I
needed to look no further than my father's profession. My
father, George Weaver, was a practicing optometrist in
York. I decided to follow in his footsteps and become an
optometrist and return home.
What
do you enjoy the most about your career as an optometrist?
I
enjoy working with the public, I enjoy working with my
staff and I enjoy working with my fellow optometrists in a
profession that is dynamic, interesting and constantly
evolving.
