Dr. Weaver received her Doctorate of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in 2017. Dr. Weaver was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, the International Optometric Honor Society. While a student in optometry school, she was an active member of the Student Optometric Service to Humanity (SOSH). While serving with SOSH, she participated in a mission trip to Haiti where she provided eye examinations, treated ocular diseases, prescribed specialized medications, and helped to provide prescription eyeglasses to the poverty stricken Haitians.
Dr. Weaver completed a rotation as an intern at the Eye Institute in Philadelphia where she concentrated in low vision, glaucoma, ocular emergencies and general eye care. She also completed a dry eye rotation at the Wyomissing Optometric Center in Reading, PA, as well as a general optometric rotation at Seidenberg and Protzko Eye Associates in Havre de Grace, MD. Dr. Weaver’s final rotation was completed at Wrigley Eye Associates in center city Philadelphia where she specialized in contact lenses.
Dr. Weaver is a third generation optometrist. She is the daughter of Dr. Scott S. Weaver. Her grandfather, Dr. George D. Weaver founded Weaver Eye Associates in 1948 and her father joined the practice in 1977. Dr. Emily Weaver is proud to continue the Weaver Eye Associates legacy.
Dr. Weaver is originally from York. She graduated from Central York High School in 2009. She continued her studies at Albright College in Reading PA, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Biology. While at Albright College she was a member of the MACC championship Albright Lions Women’s swimming team and a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She currently resides in York.
