For 36 years, Dr. Miller has practiced as an optometrist in Pennsylvania and Maryland. After receiving her Doctorate in Optometry in 1982, she was an associate in a private practice in Maryland before taking a hiatus to pursue a theological degree at Lutheran Theological Seminary, Gettysburg. It was here that she met her husband and decided to relocate to Pennsylvania.
Her keen interest in medical optometry is reflected in the advanced technology and treatments that persist in the practice today including treatment and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye disease, myopia control and low vision services.
Her desire to remain well educated and current in these and other aspects of advanced optometric care culminated in her achievement of Diplomat Status in the American Board of Optometry. Other graduate work includes advanced studies in physiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and graduate work in Psychology at Hood College.
Dr. Miller currently resides in Ephrata with her husband, Byron, and their cat. She continues to be active in the church choir, sing in Cloister Choir, and is treasurer and vice president of the Lancaster County Optometric Society.
